Explanation of Lamp Parameters

Aug 17,2024 | Tarlos

Choosing a lamp not only depends on the style and design, but also on the parameters of the lamp to buy a truly good one!

Today, I will share some common parameters of lighting fixtures for your reference!

1. Color temperature (CCT)

Color temperature: refers to the color of light, represented by K

  • CCT below 3000k, warm and comfortable
  • CCT 3000-5000k, natural and comfortable
  • CCT above 5000k, bright and quiet

(HOW TO CHOOSE DIFFERENT CCT FOR LIGHTING FIXTURES IN DIFFERENT ROOMS?)

2. Anti-Glare

The glare generated by lighting fixtures can affect visual acuity and damage the retina

The national standard stipulates that the glare value should not exceed 22, and the smaller the value, the better the anti glare effect!

3. Rendering Index (CRI/RA)

Home lighting fixtures require Ra ≥ 80. The higher the visibility, the higher the degree of color reproduction of the illuminated object, while making the environment more comfortable

4. No video flash available

It is actually impossible to have no flicker in an absolute sense. The flicker requirement for qualified products in Chinese industry standards is 3125Hz.

5. Anti blue light, select RG0 level

Blue light has the greatest harm to the retina and may cause macular degeneration in the human eye.

  • Blue light hazard group: RGO (exempted)---Exemption, the blue light hazard included in the limit conditions defined by the standard is defined as not causing any harm to the retina within 10000 seconds
  • Blue light hazard group: RG1 (low risk)---Low risk, no additional requirements, the blue light hazard included is defined as not causing harm to the retina within 100 seconds
  • Blue light hazard group: RG2 (moderate hazard)---Medium risk, the blue light hazard included is defined as not causing harm to the retina within 025s
  • Blue light hazard group: RG3 (high-risk)---High risk, the light source can cause harm in a short moment
